Deep in the harsh lands called Badlands a pair of gnomes are wandering. One, a woman, is dressed in a red robe and a red pointy hat. She also carries a staff. The male gnome is wearing a sword, shield and a mail chestpiece. During the days, the sun is hammering on them, and during night the chill creeps into the bones. Their destination is known to only them.
Under constant threat of being attacked by animals, dark iron dwarves or worse, the pair is weary, tired but yet determined.
Who are they, where are they heading, and why...? |

One day, during the later hours when the heat was a bit less, shouting, steel against steel and the roaring sound of fire could be heard near Kargath.
A Horde patrol had spotted the two gnomes, and thought they were easy game.
They did not expect to find a well trained warrior and an archmage.
The male gnome charged into the patrol without a second thought, taking the first one down with a swift attack with his sword, while a second burst into flame right behind the gnome. After a short but bloody battle the gnomes could enter the hordes newly forged way into the Seering Gourge.
Why did they then not go via Loch Modan? The answer can be found as we travle back in time a couple of days...
The heat is bad as always. On one of the huge cliffs in Badlands there are an old tomb to be found. Our gnomes are standing in the mouth of this crypt, talking amongst themselves.
- So this is the place mi'lady?
- Yes...we should be able to find it down here...though...
- Something's wrong. I can feel it too
- Keep that sword of yours at a ready dear...
And so they enter.
Inside they can find...dust. Thanks to the light from the fire in the hand of the female there are skeletons and dust to be seen.
- It's not here
- Where has it gone? Can you feel it still?
- Yes...it's heading towards the Seering Gourge
- Let's go then
Suddenly the skeleton on the throne in the back starts moving
- The Scourge is here?! For the Light!
The warrior attacks. The skeleton seems to have been a warrior in life, and the fight is raging on, while the poor mage can do nothing but watch, or she might nuke her friend too. The skeleton gets a blow to the gnomes head with it's mace, and the warrior falls to the ground. The mage sees her chance and puts in a fireball on the skeleton, rapidly followed by a Pyroblast and a Fire Blast. The skeleton falls to pieces.
The warrior raises, and puts a hand to his head. Thankfully nothing is broken and he's only bruised and a bit dizzy. He had been wearing a metal circlet on his head. |
