As a side note, I read in the patch notes that the effects of potions now continue after death so there should be an increase in the number of alchemists soon.

I may be able to help you with that.
And a side note on your side note: Not all potion effects will now persist through death - only the effects of Flasks, which are the ultimate potions that an alchemist can make. There are 4 of them, and you can only be under the effect of one of them at a time. |
